Arrival/Departure

Arriving at the Bach:

• 1. Arrive after 2pm on the day of the booking starts - e.g. if booking is In: Sat & Out: Sun, then arrival no earlier* than after 2pm on the Sat. *unless with prior agreement by previous guests.

  2. Get front door key from storage holder.

  3. Turn the ‘Hot Water Cylinder’ switch to ON.  Switch is beside hot water cylinder in bottom left of closet opposite shower.

  4. Turn the ‘PUMP’ (water pump) switch to ON.  Switch is on power board in kitchen area across from the fridge.

  5. Garbage bags - council requires use of specific blue garbage bags - these can be purchased from the dairy in the village.

Note:  BBQ Bottle is stored in the shed.  Key to shed is hanging on board next to the water pump switch.

Departing the Bach:

• 1. Depart by 2pm on day that the booking ends - e.g. if booking is In: Sat & Out: Sun, then depart* by 12pm on the Sun. *unless with prior agreement by next guests. If no one is due to arrive that day then welcome to depart whenever suits.

  2. Clean & tidy the bach. A vacuum cleaner is in the closet next to the hot water cylinder.

  3. Ensure the microwave and oven are empty of any food

  4. Clear out the fridge & freezer

  5. Turn OFF the old fridge (if used) in far corner of the living room area, then clean and leave partially open.

  6. Turn OFF & disconnect any heaters/fans.

  7. Turn the ‘Hot Water Cylinder’ switch to OFF.

  8. Turn the ‘PUMP’ (water pump) switch to OFF.

  9. Ensure all lights are switched OFF.

  10. Leave fridge in the kitchen area ON.

  11. Leave both mains switches (inside & outside bach) ON.

  12. Put BBQ bottle inside shed. Key to shed is hanging on board next to pump switch in the kitchen. Please do not leave BBQ bottle on the deck as it may be stolen. 

  13. Pour a small bucket of water into the washing machine to keep the seals from drying out.

  14. Replace any sundries used (e.g. Toilet Paper, Paper Towels etc).

  15. Remove all rubbish & recycling. (refer to notes further below re: Rubbish & Recycling).

  16. Ensure all windows and blinds are closed and locked.

  17. Return the front door key to the outside storage holder.

Recycling:

• • All recyclable paper, tin, and plastic go in the large recycle bin with the yellow lid.  No glass into this bin please!

  • Glass goes into the separate green square recycling container (and not the large bin with the yellow lid). There are to be no metal bottle tops in the recycling please.

  • Please leave both Recycling bins out on berm/grass by the road. 

  • Recycling collection dates are detailed here:  Garbage & Recycling schedule (or see copy on fridge).

Rubbish:

• • Please bring and use your own rubbish bags, and take all rubbish home with you.

Other:

• • Please feel free to use the linen & towels in the hot water cupboard however these must be washed and dried prior to departing.

  • If you finish using stock of any available sundries (e.g. hand soap, dishwash detergent, toilet paper etc) then please buy some more from the dairy so the next person staying at the bach has use of them as you will have had (hopefully!) on your arrival.

  • BBQ bottle is stored in the shed. Key to shed is hanging on board next to pump switch in the kitchen. BBQ bottle can be swapped (at a cost) at the local Dairy in Cooks Beach.
